The program for the International Symposium on Piezocomposite Applications (ISPA) 2026 is now available online.
Following strong international interest and contributions from renowned experts representing industry, research institutes, and universities worldwide, the program has been published and registration is open.
The symposium is jointly organized by Fraunhofer IKTS and Smart Material GmbH and brings together renowned speakers from industry, research institutes, and universities worldwide. Their presentations create a narrative arc spanning from advanced piezoelectric materials and composite devices to commercial applications like subsea systems, medical ultrasonics, NDT, SHM, aerospace, robotics, and sensor technologies.
Importantly, the program features a strong emphasis on dual-use applications, a sector currently experiencing significant strategic funding and growth.
Key topics include:
- Aerospace, mobility, robotics, energy, and sensor applications
- Underwater communication, sonar, and autonomous underwater systems
- Medical ultrasound applications
- Non-destructive testing (NDT) and structural health monitoring (SHM)
- Electromechanical actuators and transducers
- Textured piezoceramics and advanced processing technologies
- Lead-free piezoelectric materials and piezoelectric composites
The symposium features internationally recognized experts in high-performance piezoceramics and piezocomposites and highlights both advances in materials development and progress in demanding applications.
Due to the high number and quality of submissions, ISPA 2026 will include a dedicated poster session in addition to keynote presentations, technical sessions, networking opportunities, and an industry exhibition featuring leading suppliers and technology providers.
A particular highlight is the Industry Workshop organized by CTS Corporation on September 16, 2026. Designed for engineers and researchers, the workshop provides a comprehensive introduction to piezoelectric materials, application design, technology selection, industry challenges, regulatory developments, and future trends. Participation is free of charge for registered ISPA attendees.

Researchers who would like to present their work can still submit abstracts for the poster session until July 30, 2026
